Notes per destination

  • United States — In-person interview required at US Embassy Manila. Appointment wait times currently 60–180 days. ESTA does NOT apply to Philippine passports.
  • United Kingdom — Biometrics at VFS Global Manila/Cebu. Allow 3+ weeks processing.
  • Schengen Area (Spain / France / Italy) — Apply at the consulate of your primary destination country. Use our Schengen 90/180 calculator on /tools/.
  • Japan — Apply via accredited travel agency in PH (NOT directly at consulate). Allow 7 working days processing.
  • Saudi Arabia (OFW employment) — OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) required at NAIA departure. Visa stamped in passport before deployment.
  • Saudi Arabia (Umrah) — For Hajj: separate visa via MUMA (Muslim Mindanao) and Office of Muslim Affairs. NOT Nusuk.
  • United Arab Emirates — Free 96-hour Dubai transit visa available via Emirates / flydubai connecting flight.
  • Hong Kong — Visa-required for OFW employment (foreign domestic helper, etc.) — separate process via local agency.
  • Singapore — SG Arrival Card (SGAC) required online within 3 days before arrival.
  • Taiwan — Confirm eligibility before booking — visa-exempt status is on a rolling extension.
  • Australia — Biometrics at VFS Global Manila. Allow 3–6 weeks processing.
  • Canada — Biometrics at VFS Global Manila. Multi-entry valid up to 10 years.

How we maintain this list

We re-verify every entry quarterly by visiting the destination's official immigration portal (linked in the "Source" column). Material changes get a dated correction note; if a destination's visa policy is mid-revision we mark the entry as "under review" and pause the recommendation.
